With the country still reeling from the 2016 coronavirus pandemic, job seekers can look to Australia as an example of how to make the most of their interview skills.
Job seekers, however, need to be cautious, especially as they are facing a slew of visa restrictions.
Australia’s Immigration Minister Scott Morrison has warned that the visa restrictions may be “going up” on top of the visa requirements, which include a mandatory work requirement and a ban on working from overseas.
While Morrison has said the restrictions will remain in place for the time being, he said a ban was not the answer.
“We have the greatest skills pool in the world, but if you don’t have the right skills, you’re not going to be successful,” Morrison said.
“You need the right attitude, you need the attitude to be able to make a difference, and you need to have the temperament to be a good fit for the job you’re applying for.”
It’s not about the number of years you’ve been in Australia, it’s about what you can offer and what you are prepared to do.

Peru is the latest to be in the spotlight, after a number people have been caught overstayed their visas.
Mr Morrison said he would not be surprised if a few more people in the coming months were caught overstay.
“I think it’s inevitable that it’s going to happen,” he told Sky News on Wednesday.
“But the reality is, if you have been overstayer you will have to do the minimum necessary, which is apply for a work permit.”
